Woolsoncroft Implement started in 1958 when Dale Woolsoncroft purchased the dealership from Wirtz Implement where Dale had been a salesman. Previously, Dale had been a territory manager for the tractor and implement division of Ford Motor Company. Prior to that, he was an Agricultural Engineer for Iowa State University Extension. The dealership was located on the east side of US Highway 69 (South Duff Avenue) in Ames, Iowa just north of the river. They offered Oliver and Ford farm equipment along with various short lines. In 1960, Duane Price was the parts man and the dealership had 10 employees. In 1964, Dale officially incorporated his business as Woolsoncroft Implement Co. Directors of the corporation included Dale along with H.S. "Homer" Nelson as Secretary. In January 1966, Woolsoncroft Implement relocated to a new location at the Gilbert corner north of Ames west of US Highway 69.
In late 1969, Dale sold the business and over time it became operated as Ames Implement Co. at the same location. Duane Price ran the business and operated it for a number of years (up to at least 1978) continuing to service and sell some Oliver equipment. After Duane no longer had a dealer contract with White Farm Equipment, he purchased parts from a neighboring Oliver dealer, Johnson Sales & Service in Zearing, for his parts and repair business.
