Webster County Implement was established in 1936 and was run by the Sheimo brothers. The building was located at 508 Central Avenue in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. In February 1936, they hosted an Oliver Day that was attended by more than 600 farmers to check out the new business. They also operated stores in Webster City and Boone (or maybe Bode?) according to the June 1937 Oliver Shield magazine. In June 1937, the dealership was issued a sales bonus check in the amount of $2,337. In one short year of operation, the dealership had become the second highest volume dealer out of the Omaha branch.
Later, Webster County Implement Co. was owned by Alo "Al" Hayden. Al was listed in ads as "Your Oliver Man" dating back to 1939. By 1941, the dealership had moved to 617 1st Ave N. Later in the 1940's, the final location for the dealership was at 402 1st Ave S. in Fort Dodge until it closed. In addition to Oliver, they were also a dealer for New Idea. The pictures of the dealership shown below are from the Oliver Shield dealer magazine in section featuring Oliver dealerships. Al's son Bernard worked for the business for a period of time. When Al was ready to retire, he held a close out auction on January 25, 1964 marking the end of Webster County Implement.
